Okay. That lasted one whole day. Clementine (which was performed a few more times--I heard it once) was dropped because they--Jerry in particular--could never settle on the structure of the song--much less the words. Listen to each version and you'll notice them feeling their way--which makes it such a great song to follow through its incarnations.
Last played at the Avalon in 1969--a last attempt. And with Mickey and the Hartbeats a few time as an instrumental.

One of those experiments that didn't gell as did the Eleven or that little ditty known as Dark Star.

Shame--I love the song, however it goes.

01-23-68 is my favourite. The caboose-cross-eyed-spanishjam complement it beautifully. My favourite Phil composition.
